Sebastian Nähr and Bruno Gransche spoke at SPT (the Society for Philosophy and Technology) at the Department of Philosophy at Texas A&M University, College Station/Texas, USA. The conference dealt with technology and power.
With the presentation “Oh Lord – Please Don‘t Let Me Be Misunderstood: Ihde, Ricoeur, and learning systems” Gransche addressed men-machine relations and with “The Uncanny Cunning of Systems” he addressed the phenomenon of technological uncanniness and the importance of scepticism.
Sebastian Nähr spoke on value-sensitive design in his presentation “Between crumbling values and a crumble of old values” and in “How the „I“ might die” on the potential impacts of interactive artificial intelligence on human beings’ expressive self-relation.
